Gringo’s Palapa
Luxurious Beach Penthouse
For Highly Discriminating Travelers
At Prestigious Punta Esmeralda Beach in Puerto Vallarta, México
Magnolia #502

DESCRIPTION
In old Mayan language “palapa” means a home, a place where daily rituals and celebrations are performed, a place that will shelter you from bad weather and evil spirits. They call it a “burre” in Fiji and a hut in Hawaii. It is a palm leaf-covered thatched roof casita with a dramatically high dome ceiling.

Typical Mexican Palapas

Our palapa, a combination of old traditional Mexican crafting and ultra modern facilities, features this style of roof in the main living room, kitchen and master bedroom. It is nested in a tropical setting between coco palms and lush vegetation. Puerto Vallarta is at the same geographical latitude as Hawaii and because of its identical climate, similar flora and fauna are found here as well. Imagine spending time in this original, romantic and ultra modern palapa designed penthouse, overlooking a beautiful beach and the turquoise waters of the Bay of Banderas, one of the biggest bays in the Pacific.

Great view of the Pacific and Banderas Bay: whale watching and regular weekend firework displays at night.

This romantic penthouse featuring a spectacular view of Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta is unique in many ways. Three of four bedrooms face the far horizons of mighty Pacific Ocean while the fourth has a spectacular sunset mountain view. Whale-watching during the autumn (especially October and November) where new mother whales come with their offspring, is a favorite pastime in this gorgeous location. The penthouse décor and interior design was specially created by California artist/designer Mardi Alexandra de Veuve and the talented designer duo, Silvia and Enrique Larrigue from SC Estudios in Puerto Vallarta. Bougainvillea and tropical flowers drape the balconies and spacious terraces, providing seclusion, as well as a serene tropical ambiance. Exquisite pastel sunrises greet early risers, and morning walks on the deserted beach are delightful. Sunset cocktails on the terraces are memorable. The evening candlelight setting in this romantic setting is an ultimate delight.

DIRECTIONS
From Puerto Vallarta International Airport take highway 200 North (toward Tepic) for about 20 km (15 miles). You will pass the little community of Mezcales with a pedestrian overhead pass in the middle of town. Just a few miles from Mezcales and several speed bumps in the middle of nowhere, you will pass through the small fishing village of Bucerias. You will recognize it by 5 stop lights, and we bet you will encounter a red light on each of them. Venders will be selling gorgeous long-stemmed roses at a nominal price at these intersections. The semi-last street light is next to the China Palace on the left hand side (this landmark Chinese looking structure, can’t be missed). Look at your speedometer and a short two miles from here you will see to the left big billboard with sign “INFORMATION HERE” for Punta Esmeralda. Stay to your left and turn left by crossing the highway into Punta Esmeralda driveway and again make and immediate left to the entrance ate and security guard station. Identify yourself and they will direct you to Gringo’s Palapa Magnolia #502. Your name will be with security as a pre-registered guest.
